When I was a kid, every month or so my father would clear his throat and begin one of his World War II stories at the dinner table. I always listened closely so I wouldn’t miss any details. For some reason, even as a child, I understand these revelations from my father would impact my adult life.
Imagine my surprise when I was much older and a friend insisted I read the FBI’s report on Hitler. I learned there was a possibility Hitler hadn’t died in the bunker after all. This was news to me, and for some strange reason, it troubled me that my father may have believed a lie. What is even more troubling is I too was lead to believe the same possible lie.
My mother, who is/was secretly bi-racial, said to me, “Just drop it, leave white folks business alone.” This was even more perplexing. When did WW II become the business of only white people? What information was I missing?
To make a long story short, I’m a baby boomer born and raised in the State of California. I couldn’t wait to retire so I could write fiction. I wrote several fiction books on National Security before starting the Osei International Book Series. I’d spent a lifetime preparing to write a book which I had no idea I would ever write. Learning to write is a long hard road, I can only hope readers experience value.
It all started at the dinner table, with my father’s war stories.
My father is buried on a hill in a cemetery with all his other World War II buddies. I can’t help feel they planned to be buried near each other. On Veterans Day, the cemetery is overrun with U.S. flags and family members who acknowledge each other in a silent way. Each of the headstones has the soldier’s name rank. dates, and branch of service.
Funny thing about this cemetery thing. During WW II the White soldiers and the African-American soldiers didn’t serve together. The U.S. Army was segregated during that time, yet, in death, they’re close to one another. Did the cemetery do this, or did the soldiers themselves arrange this little incident when they were still living?
I retired and moved offshore and haven’t been back recently. I write to try and explain the outcome of the war and how it may have affected us in today’s society. Not everyone is happy with my fictional scenarios, but no one can say my fiction isn’t based on documented information which can be verified.
If the Russians and the German’s lied about Hitler’s death and most people around the world seem to think so, this puts Americans at a disadvantage. I don’t like it when I travel to foreign countries and foreigners are friendly, yet act as if they know more about my country’s history than I do.
While traveling the world and living in Germany for one year, compliments of my ex-husband and the U.S. Army, I learned one thing. History books lie all the time.
Book V of the Osei International Book Series tackles one of the biggest controversial subjects in modern history. The question of what really happened to Hitler is fictionalized. I believe readers will get goosebumps when they read it, I know I did while writing it. It took me over a year of research to piece together an exciting, yet intelligent scenario. I don’t believe Hitler ended up in South America, however, I do believe a “Hitler double” retired and died there.
The Osei International Book Series Book V surrounds the CIA hearing chatter about the NASA and the participants in Operation Paperclip which is a documented U.S. Operation. Osei is assigned the task of finding out more. Osei follows Hitler’s Nazis to Egypt, Russia, and the United States. All information is documented and verifiable. The possibility Hitler was alive during Operation Paperclip is frightening and is the reason the CIA wants to know more. The legalities of a CIA operative operating on American soil is another problem, that Shelly, Osei’s sexy CIA Case Manager resolves.
Book V coming soon, Book I is always free and can be downloaded and read on any mobile device, including your smartphone.
